He said he was impressed particularly by the exhibit featuring China's first university entrance examination, which was presented using wax sculptures to portray an exam scene in the classroom.
He added that the development of the high-speed railway also impressed him as he heard the guide saying the railway helped cut down travel time between Shanghai and Beijing from a dozen hours to four hours.
"The development of the high speed network in China for me is a bonus to the rest of the world. Such technology is very crucial if we are to advance in our daily lives and also in the economy," he said.
Calling the development of China "phenomenal", Pelenah said seeing the exhibition gave him the feeling that "Chinese people have every reason to celebrate the 70th anniversary".
Mahmoud Saad Kamel Diab, foreign affairs journalist with the Al-Ahram Gate newspaper in Egypt, said "it is a great thing" that China can use technology to relate the history of New China since 1949.
