Johnson & Johnson partners with Nova Vision for eye care project

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care China has reached a new round of strategic cooperation with Nova Vision, an optometry service provider, to jointly implement a digital slit-lamp AI diagnosis R&D project.
The exploration will enhance the efficiency of contact lens fitting and elevate user experience through an advanced artificial intelligence algorithm that helps improve the eye health of consumers.
According to the recent Global Eye Health Survey by Johnson & Johnson Vision, nearly half of interviewees said they are improving their eyesight by wearing a combination of glasses and contact lenses. While an encouraging 63 percent reported going for an eye exam every year, this still leaves a considerable segment of Chinese adults skipping eye checks.
"It is vital for us to take the lead to explore new ways in the digital era, offer more professional services to consumers and promote the healthy development of the contact lens industry in China, as the nation's optometry services continue to transform and become a more professionally driven industry," said Li Jing, general manager of J&J Vision Care China.
