Sterilize university, Party chief says

The top official in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province has demanded that a local COVID-hit university sterilize its campus completely to prepare for the return of students and teachers who were transferred to other places to avoid infections, Shijiazhuang Daily reported.
Zhang Chaochao, the city's Party chief, made the remarks during an inspection visit to Hebei Normal University on Monday morning in a review of the school's epidemic prevention and control work.
"It is necessary to do a comprehensive disinfection and meticulous cleaning so that we can ensure the health and safety of teachers and students when they are back," Zhang said when he inspected dormitories.
All students and teachers of the university have been transferred to different places in the city after the school recorded increased COVID-19 infections last week, according to the city's anti-epidemic work group.
They will gradually get back starting from Monday after the campus is clean and safe, it said.
Zhang demanded that accommodation and transport for the students and teachers should be guaranteed, and related workers should be under closed-loop management.
Facing increasing COVID-19 infections, Shijiazhuang adjusted its epidemic prevention and control measures after the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council rolled out 20 measures on Friday, with some residential communities getting rid of static management.
"This is our action to strictly carry out the measures and definitely not overlook any situations," Zhang said.
