Dongshan township shoulders the critical responsibility of safeguarding the river's ecological health. With 32.7 kilometers of Yangtze shoreline under its jurisdiction, the town has prioritized environmental conservation and green development in recent years, striving to create the "most beautiful Yangtze riverbank".

To restore and protect the river's shoreline, Dongshan has implemented a multipronged approach, including strict inspection systems, water quality management, ecosystem rehabilitation and conservation enforcement.

The township has focused on improving living standards through standardized housing construction, environmental sanitation upgrades and large-scale afforestation.
