Luo also formed deep connections with literary and artistic elites such as Yu Dafu, enriching his works' cultural and artistic value. He published articles in the magazine Life at the Bank of China, promoting the concept of "artistic living" and viewing photography as a means to enrich life rather than a career.

Despite being affected by the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45), Luo remained steadfast in his love and dedication to photographic art. He turned his lens to objects within reach at home as the themes of his artistic creation. These still-life works are not only a testament to his photographic career but also a repository of his spiritual world.

The Beijing exhibition runs until June 1.

If you go:

10 am-6 pm, closed on Mondays. Three Shadows Photography Art Centre, 155 A Caochangdi, Chaoyang district, Beijing. 010-6432-2663
