Magna unveils latest innovation at Auto Shanghai

Magna International has unveiled a comprehensive suite of advanced automotive technologies at Auto Shanghai, underscoring its commitment to innovation and local collaboration in China.

Its exhibits focus on four pivotal areas: environmentally sustainable technologies, advanced driver assistance systems, personalized in-vehicle experiences, and complete vehicle solutions.

Sharath Reddy, senior vice-president of corporate R&D at Magna, emphasized the company's long-standing commitment to the Chinese market, noting the rapid development of local engineering capabilities.

He highlighted the DHD Duo hybrid drive system as an example of local innovation, developed in just 18 months by Magna's Chinese engineering team.

Additionally, Reddy discussed the strategic partnership with NVIDIA to enhance ADAS capabilities through advanced computing power and sensor integration.

Wang Zhen, President of Magna China, discussed the company's efforts to support Chinese automakers in expanding their global presence.

She outlined Magna's comprehensive services, including product design, market strategy, and supply chain management, aimed at facilitating the internationalization of Chinese automotive brands.

Magna's presence at Auto Shanghai highlights its significant footprint in China, where the company operates nearly 70 manufacturing facilities and employs over 30,000 individuals.

In 2024, Magna's business in the China region experienced a 15 percent growth, reflecting the company's deepening integration into the local automotive ecosystem.
