Danone records strong growth in Q1

Food and beverage producer Danone Group reported a strong start to 2025, with like-for-like sales in China, North Asia, and Oceania rising 9.9 percent in the first quarter, led by robust volume and mix growth of 10.4 percent.
Specialized nutrition drove the momentum in the region, with infant milk formula gaining market share, notably through the premium Essensis brand, while medical nutrition continued to see strong demand.
In the waters segment, Mizone achieved double-digit growth, and Danone's essential dairy and plant-based business in Japan maintained strong market share gains.
Group-wide, Danone posted 6.84 billion euros in sales for the quarter, up 4.3 percent on a like-for-like basis, with volume and mix contributing 1.9 percent and pricing 2.4 percent.
CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique said, "With a 4.3 percent like-for-like sales growth in the first quarter, we have delivered a strong start to the year across all categories, demonstrating the strength of our execution and the relevance of our health-focused portfolio."
Despite global economic uncertainty, de Saint-Affrique said that Danone's science-based innovations, consumer- and patient-centric approach, and diversified channel footprint continue to support the resilience of its business.
