Kong Qianyang, a Chinese artist born in 1998 in Ningbo, East China and now residing in London, is using her works as a distinctive language, sketching an imaginative blueprint for the integration of art, economy and culture.

Kong, graduating in 2023 from the Royal College of Art, is trying to form a style of her own — carrying the whispers of history while linking to the current economic and cultural context, thus displaying a civilization charm that is both distant and familiar.

With this philosophy, Kong’s works are demonstrating a distinctive economic value and potential in both the art market and cultural heritage.

In the context of rapid urbanization, balancing economic development with cultural heritage preservation has become a key issue.

“In the realm of contemporary art, artists continuously explore the fusion of art, economy and culture, showcasing their unique creativity and values,” said Kong.
