Chengdu fashion brand stages plant dye exhibition in New York

YUANJIA, a Chengdu-based womenswear brand known for its plant-dyed garments, opened its first U.S. solo exhibition, Among Colors, at the Blanc Gallery in New York City on Saturday, as part of its 15th anniversary celebration.
Founded in 2010 by writer and designer Ning Yuan and a group of friends who grew up in a village in Sichuan, YUANJIA carries a two-fold meaning—a distant place from home or a home that is far away. The brand makes everyday clothing, pursuing a sense of "ordinary beauty," which is relaxed and comfortable and stems from the harmonious relationship between people, clothing, and the Earth.
The New York showcase features naturally dyed clothing using indigo, persimmon, gardenia, tea and other plants that are cultivated and processed by hand in Bright Moon Village, located in Sichuan province, Southwest China.
