The delegation was warmly received by Li Kemin, director of the CFL, and Yang Xu, vice-president of the Chinese Football Association, vice-director of the CFL, and chairman of the Chinese Super League Company.

Established in January 2025, the CFL is a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing the professionalization and governance of Chinese soccer. It represents a strategic move to align with globally respected leagues such as the Bundesliga.

During the session, Leible praised the establishment of the CFL, calling it "a milestone in China's journey toward professionalism and sustainability". Citing the Bundesliga's sound organizational structure and financial resilience, Leible added, "We hope our experiences will contribute to the rapid growth of Chinese football across multiple dimensions."

He emphasized the importance of unified governance. "A holistic view is imperative for effective management and balance within the league. A centralized system, overseen collectively, ensures solidarity and efficient administration — a principle that clubs must embrace."

Timm shared FC Bayern Munich's success in global fan engagement, spotlighting the club's Shanghai office — opened in 2016 — as a hub for building community, expanding youth programs, and fostering digital innovation.

"It's a nuanced ecosystem where clubs coalesce with the league to shape policies," he said.

"While victory is our goal, we recognize the importance of balanced competition for the league's health. Meaningful dialogue within commissions and boards is vital to elevate German football's global stature."

Representing Borussia Dortmund, Wahl focused on "Club Management and Internationalization", citing the recent opening of the Borussia Dortmund International Football Academy in Beijing as a case in point.

He also highlighted the club's marketing strategies, which blend soccer with global pop culture icons such as One Piece and Transformers.

"Sustainability lies at our core," he said. "We consider ourselves a young, different brand. We think that's a sustainable way and a combined approach."
