Glassmaking exhibition displays centuries of creativity in Zibo

Since the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), Zibo in Shandong province has hosted a prosperous glassmaking industry where locally produced minerals are utilized by gifted artists and artisans to create decorative glassware that transmits graceful luminosity.
The exhibition Luminous Brilliance: The Artistry of Zibo Glass opened at the National Museum of China in Beijing on Tuesday. Visitors enter a colorful world built over centuries by glass artists in Zibo.
Objects of various colors and shapes created with well-developed techniques are on display, many of which come from museums and artists in Zibo. The exhibition celebrates the well-preserved achievements, traditions and creative artistry.
