Shanghai artists' works on show in Beijing

At the turn of the 19th century, the Shanghai School emerged as a leading reformative force in the Chinese art scene. The artists' group initiated a fresh painting style to reflect the growing aesthetic demands of modernization.
Since then, artists living in the city have for decades been committed to carrying on that spirit of renovation. The latest fine examples are now on show at The Gentle Breeze from Shanghai, ongoing until July 6 at the Beijing Fine Art Academy's galleries.
The exhibition brings together five artists from Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy whose delicate brushwork and elegant palette of coloring celebrate the city's cultural vibes.
The exhibition also aims to strengthen connections between the two academics to continuously refresh the face of Chinese painting.
