Dress code

我剛到美國的時候，利用課余時間在一家餐館打工，主要負責接聽電話。

有一次，我接到一個電話，對方問道：“ What's your‘dress code’”？開始我以為我沒有聽清楚，接著我以為對方應該是要詢問我們餐館的address（地址）和 zip code（郵編），于是我就告訴了對方我們餐廳的地址。

誰知，她先是愣了一下，然后向我解釋說“dress code”指的是餐館對顧客服裝上的特別要求，因為在美國比較高級的餐館要求顧客穿著正式的服飾，否則就會被拒之門外的。
