1. Screw around 胡鬧；不作正經事

A: Quit screwing around and work on your paper, Max!
Max，不要胡鬧了，做你的報告去吧。

B: I don't want to. How can I write about something I never read?
我不想啊。我怎么寫我都沒讀過的東西嘛？

你有沒有發現，當碰到一件很不想處理的事, 自己往往會用做其它的事來回避它? 好像你明明該坐下來用功讀書, 但你卻發現自己在網絡上逛來逛去。這種該作正經事的時候, 卻晃來晃去做別的事就是這里的“screw around”的意思。

“Screw around”還有一個意思是指一個人在感情上的不專情，同時和很多人來往。例如“After he met Susanne, he stopped screwing around.”就是“自從碰到Susanne后他就不再到處鬼混了?！?

2. Screw around with someone 招惹某人；對某人態度隨便

A: A piece of advice. Don't screw around with her. She's got a terrible temper.
(給你)一個忠告，別招惹她，她的脾氣可壞得很。

B: She does? But she looks like a sweet little angel.
是嗎？但是她看起來像個可愛善良的小天使。

Screw around with someone 這個詞組基本上是從上面的“screw around”延伸出來的用法。像是對某人的態度輕慢、亂開玩笑就是這里 screw around with someone 的意思。

另外有一個跟“screw around”也有關系的詞組是“screw around with something”。它的意思是“胡搞某個東西”的意思。好比有人拿著你的遙控器亂玩一番，你就可以請他“Stop screwing around with the remote control.”
