什么是“玩具食物”？

玩具食物？是拿來當玩具的食物嗎？猜錯了！玩具食物是把預先加工處理好的食材混合或搭配而成的食物，就像過家家玩的“做飯”一樣簡單，比如往一碗麥片里澆上牛奶做成的早餐。

Toy food is a food dish that comes premeasured and premixed and so requires only a minimal amount of preparation.

“玩具食物”是用預先切好、拌合好的食材，只需極少準備工作就能制成的一盤食物。

To make toy food, you just need to get a little piece of this, a little of that, put it all together and make something, just like it was an Erector Set.

要做“玩具食物”，你只需拿一點這個食材，再加一點那個食材，把它們放在一起就是一頓飯，就像搭模型一樣。

For example, thinly slice a half pound of lean meat, brown it in a skillet for a few minutes, add two tablespoons of wine or water, the frozen package of sauce and vegetables — potatoes wedges, pearl onions, carrots, peas and sliced mushrooms, cook for about eight minutes and you have dinner for two.
