This year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Xiamen Committee (CCPIT Xiamen Committee), and over the past decades, the city has reaped greater benefits in deepening economic and trade cooperation with its global partners, according to committee members at their work conference held on March 24.
In 2023, the Xiamen committee will organize 70 global events to bring local enterprises onto the international stage, and deepen pragmatic economic cooperation in trade, according to Ke Biru, chairwoman of the committee.
At the just-concluded work conference, the CCPIT Xiamen Committee signed cooperative agreements with a number of institutions, as well as announced plans to set up four overseas liaison offices in countries and regions like Chile, Vietnam, and the Philippines, which will make it easier for the city to deepen trade and economic ties with its global partners.
In recent years, the Xiamen committee has responded actively to the local government's call to attract large-scale foreign investment. In the past decade, it has set up 50 overseas liaison offices in 43 countries and regions, helping the city attract more foreign capital and promote further opening-up.
Official data showed that the CCPIT Xiamen Committee has nearly 300 friendship organizations around the world. In the future, the committee will further deepen practical cooperation with friendship organizations to achieve win-win cooperation.
