Summer begins with Start of Summer

At the first solar term of summer, spring bows out, yet warmth delays its call. When greens outshine the fading red, seeds of spring swiftly grow. Song Dynasty (960-1279) poet Yang Wanli wrote in his poem The Little Pond: The little lotus bloom has just shown its tip slight; When all at once you see a dragonfly alight. Borne on the gentle summer eve’s sigh, as the setting sun lingers, watch twilight fade like a lullaby.
