紐約恐襲 8人喪生

Eight people were killed and more than a dozen injured after a man drove a truck nearly a mile down a bike path in Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, striking pedestrians, cyclists and a school bus.

Shortly after 15:00 local time (19:00 GMT), a vehicle rented from retailer Home Depot struck cyclists and pedestrians while being driven along the West St-Houston St path for many blocks

The vehicle then hit a school bus, injuring two adults and two children on board, and came to a halt

The suspect was said to be Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbek national, according to the Associated Press (AP)

The suspect was said to be an Uber driver, and the company has confirmed that. He has now been banned from the app, it says.
