The contributions of digital technology to empowering Sinology, Chinese studies, and the exchanges of civilizations were discussed at the 9th World Conference on Sinology, held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from June 5-7. It was jointly hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, of Ministry of Education, and Renmin University of China.

Spanish Sinologist Patricia Amate Nú?ez has focused her research on "Dream of the Red Chamber". She said AI will be of great help in the dissemination of the classic novel, as people can get the details, everything about Baoyu and Daiyu by asking ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and others. She said she wants to tell her students that Shenzhen is a city of future and AI is everywhere, and that they should visit it so that they would understand what was happening.
