Romantsova Kseniia, a 29-year-old from Russia, recently received her Chinese permanent residency — a milestone in her eight-year journey through China. After moving from Blagoveshchensk to Beijing, she earned a master’s degree in international Chinese education, married a Chinese actor, and embraced life across cultures.

Thanks to China’s supportive policies for mixed-nationality families, her application process took just one year. The “green card” has since simplified daily life, from boarding trains to job flexibility. Kseniia now feels empowered to contribute professionally.

Beyond paperwork, Kseniia has deeply integrated into Chinese society — wearing hanfu, enjoying local cuisine, and participating in cultural research and events. She’s traveled extensively beyond major cities, urging others to explore China’s diverse regions.

She also helps friends navigate travel to China, thanks to the country’s new visa-free policy. Her advice to young foreigners: stay curious and connect with Chinese peers to truly understand the culture.
